A catch-all e-mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to invalid email addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss messages because the other party has an out-of-date address or has made a spelling error. The negative aspect of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of spam emails, but this issue can be solved using anti-spam protection software. It’s also essential to remember that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound email messages to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

In case you host a domain on our cloud platform and you’ve got a web hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all feature for any e-mailbox that you create under the domain. The Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section includes quite a few functions, but it’s remarkably simple to work with, so configuring a catch-all mailbox takes only a single mouse click. All the email addresses that you have will be shown in this section in alphabetical order and you will simply have to click the "Catch-all" button for the given address. Our system will warn you if there is already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain name or if the one that you’d like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or pick another mailbox. Disabling the catch-all option is just as simple and requires yet another mouse click on the very same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The catch-all option can be enabled without any difficulty in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with us. All the email addresses that you’ve set up with the domain names hosted in your semi-dedicated account will be displayed in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you will find a small button handily located right next to each one of them. With just a single click of the mouse, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your preference provided that there isn't another mailbox under the same domain with this option already enabled and there isn't activated email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and enable the feature through the contextual menu that will come into sight. If any of the conditions for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not answered, our system will inform you, but will not disable or replace anything automatically.
